Artique Resort

The place offers great ocean view with amazing view of the city. My family and I used to sit in the balcony and enjoy the fresh air from the ocean while watching the surfers on the nearby beach. The only criticism that I have would relate to the poor service by the front desk staff who were not very approachable and friendly.

We stayed in an absolutely beautiful 2 bedroom, 2 bathroom apartment on Level 24. Fabulous views and certainly worth the extra to get the ocean view. Easy walk to the centre of Surfers and the nearby beach is just a couple of minutes stroll. Great club (Northcliffe Surf Club) has fabulous food and views of the beach and its just a few minutes walk. Loved the large balcony, great kitchen and size of the apartment. We will most definitely be back!

We wanted to get away from the Melbourne Winter and booked at the last minute. We arrived very late at night and were very happy with our apartment. The facilities were excellent. Very modern & spacious. We were close enough to Cavell Ave without being to far away. The staff were friendly and helpful. My family really enjoyed our stay here so much so our 11 year old wanted to live here. We look forward to staying at Artique next visi.t

We had a wonderful stay and will most definitely be revisiting in the near future. The resort is very modern, spacious and clean and offers fabulous facilities. We especially enjoyed the heated 20-25 metre pool, the steam room and sauna. The resort location is perfect - close to everything yet quiet enough for a great sleep. Love the large, usable balcony. Great showers!

we had noisy neighbours the first night but after that everything was great.

We stayed at the Artique last Easter Long Weekend, and now we are going back again this easter, because we loved it so much, the rooms are fantastic, we had a fabulous long weekend away, the resort is so close to everthing all in walking distance, no need to drive. We certanily recommend this resort to anyone, especially familys, how people can rate it badly I don't know how, as it is real value for money.

I stayed at the artique during February 2010.
From the outside the Artique looks beautiful. The reception area is neat and tidy. Although my apartment was the opposite. There were dirty marks on the walls. I payed to stay in the superior suit and my "KING" bed was two double bed put together. The bedding was dirty and had sweat stains on the doona. I would NOT recommend staying here.

Booked "Superior Ocean View" room, which was actually located on the back of the building. If we leaned over the balcony we could see the ocean. Was told we had the right room. Very unfriendly staff. Cheap furniture, dirty rooms with dust on everything. Dirty, uncleaned toilets. Filthy windows, couldn't see past all the previous guests kids greasy hand marks on the windows. Windows leaked water all over the floor inside, creating puddles.

Paid bill at checkout, which we believed was in full. Then 3 months later, we get charged an additional $500 on our credit card with out so much as a phone call to explain why. Turns out they under charged on checkout. We have no issue paying money owing, but charging us without so much as a phone call during the christmas period is just wrong.

I would suggest you strongly rethink staying here, the price may be right, but it's for obvious reasons. We will NEVER stay here again.

It was our first time to go to the gold coast after much anticipation we went to the artique resort and checked in, there were no problems there as the staff were very very friendly. We were checked in and upgraded to a higher floor which was a bonus. The venue had heaps of brochures which was awesome so we can see and plan the things that we needed to go and site see. The facilties were awesome it included a movie theatre which was reasonable as it works on a timetable the theatre is awesome just like a real cinema but smaller... The place was beautiful fully airconditioned and the views are amazing. The pool was fun but you are not allowed to bring pool inflatables or inflatable balls as the security guard gets a bit mad.. The place was amazing and value for money .. The place was so amazing that were going back again in Nov 09 will be back again and again and will definatly recommend!!! i dont know what people are saying about the place being bad, dont mind them as the place was really really awesome!!!!

My partner and I loved the apartment. There was so much room and everything was there for us. I was initially worried about booking after reading some peoples reviews but i\'m glad i did. We didn\'t pay for a beach view because we rather spend the money sight seeing. I\'m not sure if any of the apartments had great beach views but overall the complex is safe, secure and beautiful. Reception leaves at 5.00pm so be early. A very modern apartment.

We booked 2 bedroom apartment from 17/10/09 to 20/10/09. We thought the checking In time was 11:00am, so we booked the early morning flight. Upon getting there around 10:30 the reception staff informed that the check in time is 2:00 pm. We requested that if possible we can get a room a bit earlier. The staff was not at all helpfull & they gave us the room at exactly 2:00pm. We have booked so many other hotels throughout Australia but always were checked in before 2:00pm. The hotel was also not full so not sure why we were made to wait till 2:00pm. Also once we got our room we were 5 adults but the apartment had only sleeping for 4 people. the wash basin in one of the toilets was blocked & had water filled in it. Never again will stay in this hotel or Accor group after this experience, also never recommend anyone.

On arrival i was given 2 rooms 5 levels apart not knowing the high security system ,did not allow us to move from level to level due to FOB, Was treated unfairly at reception after requesting to be moved on same level ,was told not a hotel does not work that way!!! :( we were told it was out of the staffs control ,did not enjoy the 7 day stay ,could not wait to get out of "jail", booked in june 2 x 2 bedroom apartments , having 2 adult couples in each.
The staff in foyer were not friendly and inviting and if we raised a question there was always an answer that met there terms not ours!! Ocean view was a glimpse paid extra for nothing placed on levels 7 & 12 on a 30 storey building!!

Me, my bestfriend and our partners stayed at Artique Resort for 10days in a 2bdrm apartment. Ages ranging from 19 to 21. We were given everything we requested. The rooms are great, modern and have everything you would have in your own home. It\'s an awesome place to stay, a 10minute walk to Cavill Ave, 1minute to the beach, 2minute\'s to the bus stops & 24hour mini-supermarkets, 3minutes to the Q1 which was right in front of us when sitting on the balcony. oh yes the balcony was awesome, spent alot of time hanging out on the deck as there was a table & chairs, a sun-chair and a clothes rack. The staff were awesome, no bad vibes there, an they were more than happy to help us with all our queries we had from where to catch a bus to booking a shuttle back to the airport. Defintly have to keep the noise down after 10pm as they have on-site security. There are lots of brochures in the foyer where you will find lots of things to do and also lots of discount coupons in the brochures which we actually used quite a bit...made lots of savings! There\'s a dishwasher but don\'t forget your dishwasher powder/liquid and also washing powder for the washing machine as you only get enough for one load! I suggest you take more towels if you can as you are only given 1 towel each an have to pay extra for towels. Also take or buy toilet paper as we were given 4 rolls for a 10day stay. The rooms didn\'t get serviced so lucky we kept it clean the whole time. The BBQ facilities are awesome but when they say you have to be out by 9 you defintly have to be out by 9..We ended up having to take our whole BBQ back up to Level 13 although the security guy was very nice and gave us an extra couple of minutes to finish cooking.

Our apartment at the Artique resort was superb! We stayed in a 2 bedroom apartment that was beautifully finished throughout and suited for both young and older families. We also had a huge balcany area with BBQ and seating for upto 12 people over looking the ocean. The staff were excellent and effecient allour requirements were met on arrival. Everything you need in one location.

I found these apartments to be clean, comfortable, spacious & modern, with minimal outside noise once you closed the balcony doors. I thought the towel refresh allowance could have been a bit more generous, but the cost of a fresh towel at reception wasn\'t too bad. I would consider staying here again.

To all the people that gave a good review about the reception staff, Are you sure you stayed at "The Artique"???. I found them to be very rude, they spoke to me as if I were a disobedient child. and generally just very unhelpful. God fobid they smile!! Reception staff need some serious customer service training, especially Andrea. I overheard her "bitching" about guest in Room 2004 to other guests at reception. Very unprofessional!!!!

Our room was filithy not what I would expect from a 4.5 star. Food crumbs on the floor in the couch, generally dusty, toilets not cleaned properly, there was something strange stuck on the outside of the toilet bowl????? Disgusting. The sheets had yellow stains on them, whats that about??

I also recommend you do not hire a portable cot from them, it's cheaper to buy your own. They charged me $88 for 9 nights, $44 for 7 nights then for the extra two nights they charged me another $44??? A bit expensive for two nights.

I also wrote a letter of complaint to the GM. The email was read the day I sent it, it's been a week and I have not a had a reply so far? No wonder the staff are the way they are!!

Stay somewhere else, somewhere where the room is clean and the staff can manage a smile!! What a waste of $3000!!!!!

I was at the Artique Resort with three friends to relax and have fun at surfer's paradise for six days and five nights. This is purely a recollection of my experiences with the extremely bad service of the hotel, you can assume that its a one off incident or a common occurrence i honestly dont care. When we called the hotel for information and booking, the level of customer service was exceptional, the woman was helpful, polite and easy to talk to. This was the level of service that had attracted us to the hotel and what my friends and i had expected when we arrived at the Artique Resort. This was however merely a pretentious facade and i would even go further to suggest that it was a bait and switch. When checking in, we were not even acknowledged by the staff let alone greeted, they sat behind their counter and did not even bother to say hello. The level of service plummeted to new lows after this as we were checked in by one of their staff members. All i can say is that he is the most incompetent and condescending hotel staff i have ever dealt with and i cannot fathom the thought process of the manager or his employer. He was simply rude and unsympathetic, while he fumbled around with our money we asked him where the nearest ATM machine was and where essentially told to shut up while he was counting. Ok, a bit impertinent but i gave him the benefit of the doubt considering his struggle with basic maths and his determination to count a bunch of $50 notes correctly. Soon enough he gave us the room keys and told us that the room would be "ready soon" giving no real indication of time, we waited for over half an hour in the lobby area before we asked him how much longer it would take. Once again with his patronizing manner he told us in the most frank tone it would be another hour, yep great service....
To be honest, i had a good time at the hotel when not dealing with the unprofessional staff. it is within walking distance to the beach and also pool, spa, sauna and steam room were rarely taken. The rooms were pretty clean and provided a comfortable living for the time we were there.
Yet again, our experience at the hotel was spoilt when dealing with the staff during check out. The same staff member was just as obnoxious and unprofessional during check out as he was during check in. No greetings, no amiable tone or manner, i still struggle to understand what he is attempting to achieve acting more or less like a jerk and it baffles me how he got hired in the first place. The hotel took off $9 from our bond because we apparently broke two wine glasses which we definitely did not use. We just accepted it as we did not want to deal with their unsympathetic and even hostile staff and just left. It did not surprise me that as we left there was no even a courtesy goodbye which one would expect from the most standard trained staff, once again a reflection of their incompetence in the field of customer service.
It is needless to say that i will never return to the Artique Resort nor would i recommend this hotel to me friends. Surfer's Paradise is a tourist location with many many hotels very similar to Artique in terms of rooms and price, so ask yourself this, why would you pay to have substandard services when you can get almost exactly the same rooms at the same price elsewhere but with much better services (i cannot comprehend service any worse than this).

Absolutely FANTASTIC accommodation. The rooms are exactly the sa,e as they are in the pictures and probably the cleanset I have ever seen. Great location, fantastic pool and spa area. Beautiful clean grounds and secure carpark. I have already recommended Artique to many friends and will definatley be staying again!

feedback:
a) I requested a room on a high level however I received one on the 4th floor. Traffic noise was clearly apparent on this floor.
b) I arranged to have a late checkout with the receptionist the day before I was scheduled to checkout however the morning of checkout I was disturbed by housekeeping requesting I needed to vacant. After explaining the situation, the house keeper went to confirm with reception. It was evident that there was no record of the arrangement as JAME from reception called requesting me to leave the hotel.
Upon returning the keys I elaborate on the arrangement however before I could explain myself to the lady who was serving, JAMES unnecessary interrupted our conversation whilst he was still serving the customer in front of him. James explained that Artique does not do late check out, this is contrary to the Guest booklet and the receptionist I spoke to the day before. This is besides the point as James was RUDE and UNPROFESSIONAL!!

This is a new building probably about 2 years old. About a 5 min walk to Surfers Paradise central area. Resort on the South side of Surfers and just far enough away to be out of the crazyness of surfers. Pool and BBQ area nice, and you can book out the theatre there as well, seat about 10-12.

the apartments are fully equiped and have a north facing balcony looking up to Q1. We stayed in a 2 bedroom "02" unit which is looks out near the river, our friends 2 bedroom unit was an "06" unit, it is at the beach end of the building and this apartment was heaps bigger than ours. If we ever come back again we will be requesting the "06" beach end unit cause it is much bigger and has best beach views in the building

we thoroughly enjoyed our stay and I would recommend this place especially to families.

Nice apartment and friendly reception staff. All facilities were clean and well kept. Very close to the beach and a short walk to Cavill Avenue.

We stayed at Artique with our three young children and were very impressed. Very clean rooms, modern decor and furnishings, great kitchen / laurndry, nice views from good sized deck. Great pool with spa and barbeque area. Would stay again and recommend to others.

Gym should have a set of H/duty Scales, a clock and maybe a bench for bench press, stomach sit ups etc. did not try business facilities. Cannot recommend for older travellers due to lack of shower recess - this is a determent for investment/purchase by older citizens seeking possible retirment home. Otherwise excellent facility.

Awesome hotel! Staff were very friendly and helpful. Apartments were clean, modern and luxurious. Very close to beach, and walking distance to main street. Great value, would recommend to any people wanting an awesome holiday away.

Very good value for money. I liked the large living area and the rooms with large verandahs. I did not like the fact that the cleaning only occurs every 8 days.

This was the 2nd time we have stayed at Artique Resort. We find it very clean, staff are very friendly and helpful, it is convenient to supermarkets, buses and the beach. The swimming pool and gym are particularly good. We go to the Gold Coast quite frequently and will stay there again for sure.

Generally was a great stay. Although we did find the lounge furniture small and uncomfortable. Also a larger TV screen would have been a nicer option. Beautiful building with wonderful appointments and great location. Would stay again.

We paid I think top dollar for the property the heated resort pool/spa didnt work untill the 2nd last day the hot water went out 3 times in a week the kitchenware was a cheap quality and we went out and purchaced our own frypan,broken can opener and no tongs
